SNES IMSAR is given the mission of working on a broad range of issues surrounding our society, touching upon the social, cultural and economic dimensions of human life. The key words guiding the mission are; societal relevance and multi disciplinarily approach. The Institute endeavors to be relevant by focusing its work on issues faced by diverse stakeholders in the sectors connected with the prosperity of our nation.

SNES IMSAR shall work for the promotion of sustainable, equitable and participatory development, social welfare and social justice through:

• Value-based education for social dedication and other human service professions;
• Social research and dissemination of socially relevant knowledge;
• Social intervention through training and field action projects;
• Contribution to social and welfare policy and programme formulation at state, national and international levels;
• Professional response to national calamities, through relief, rehabilitation and disaster management.

MSAR is managed by SNES, a non-profit charitable society in Calicut with over three decades of service in the education field. It is a society of highly committed individuals inspired by the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru, the great social reformer of Kerala. It has been running a kindergarten (SNES Euro Kids) in Calicut city, a CBSE Higher Secondary School at Kunnamangalam and SNES College Of Arts, Commerce and Management at A.G. Road, near IV Rly Gate, Calicut. SNES has plans to establish a series of professional educational institutions in the next few years and IMSAR is the first in these. SNES plans to make IMSAR a truly world-class Management Institute. It shall be an institution guided by a passion for excellence, and innovation shall be its hallmark.

IMSAR is located in a sprawling campus at Chethukadavu near Kunnamangalam on Calicut-Mukkom road. It is about 14 kms from the heart of Calicut city and is well connected by road, rail and air. Proximity to some of the national institutions like IIM Kozhikode, NIT Calicut, DOEACC Calicut, is a great advantage to the institute

IMSAR offers MBA programme of the University of Calicut. The four-semester MBA programme aims at imparting the best of knowledge and training and developing the attitude and skills required for a business manager and entrepreneur. The Institute focuses on training the students in soft skills and personality development. The programme is designed to enable the students to gain knowledge in best practices of business/industrial management and application of the knowledge through industry interaction, placement-training and real-life case studies. The programme-delivery will be different in content and quality to ensure industry-readiness. IMSAR gives placement a special priority and will impart special training and coaching to the students right from the start of the programme to make them employable. The hall-mark of this programme is the integration of the academic activities with those of business firms, right from the start.
